Born in Konongo, a gold bar and manganese mining community in the Ashanti region of Ghana, Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong known in the entertainment industry as Black Sherif rose to fame with his street anthem “1st Sermon Freestyle” which he released in 2021. The Drill music and Hip pop sensation topped the Ghanaian music charts with his “1st Sermon Freestyle” for weeks. He gained the approbation of international music stars like Burna Boy after the release of his “Second Sermon” in July 2021.

The two artists later performed a remix of the song during Burna Boy’s Love, Damini album listening in the UK. The song topped the charts in Ghana, Nigeria and in other countries worldwide. Black Sherif won the Hip hop song of the year and the Song of the Year with “Second sermon” during the 2022 3 Music Awards. Black Sherif was also voted the Hip life/Hip hop artist of the year at the same event. “Second Sermon” was again voted the Best Hip hop song during the 2022 Ghana Music Awards. The musician also won Best New Artist at the event.

In March 2022, Black Sherif again released a chart topping Hip pop music he titled “Kwaku the Traveller”.

The song was number one in Ghana and the Nigerian Apple Music charts. What was more surprising was the reach of the song after its release. The song got praises from musicians and Djs from across the globe. Popular among them was American DJ and musician, DJ Khaled who recorded a video of himself Bopping to the song. An endorsement regarded by music lovers as a boost for Black Sherif’s career and the Ghana music industry.

Other songs released by Black Sherif include; Cry for me, Samir Kinidi, Money, Destiny, Ade Akye, Ankonam, Abotr3 which featured Ghanaian rapper Amerado, Gold Digga ft. Samsney, Always ft.Darkoo, He also featured in Holy F4k by Smallgod, Vic Mensa, Kwaku DMC & Ivorian Doll and GidiGidi which featured Smallgod and Tory Lanez.

Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong was born on the 9th of January 2002 and is just 20 years old. There is unquestionably more amazing songs yet to be released by this amazing talent.
